A weed in the garden is really any plant growing where you don’t want it.
A rose bush could be a weed – Some say a dandelion is a weed – while
others dine on its new young leaves and make wine! Always know your
plants before touching them and or eating them. Knowledge is power.

Picking Young Greens (wakanatsumi) : The Festival of Seven Herbs or
Nanakusa no sekku is the long-standing Japanese custom of eating
seven-herb rice porridge (nanakusa-gayu) on January 7 (Jinjitsu).

…all the plants reach…

spring like weather
opens the new year door
all the plants reach

even the weeds seek the sun
as the last snow that fell, melts

let lay chestnut shells…

http://chevrefeuillescarpediem.blogspot.com/2014/08/carpe-diem-551-abandoned.html

CD -551-abandoned

let lay chestnut shells
hollowed out by squirrels
abandoned trail

abandoned trail
overgrown with weeds, broken
bridge removed and gone

bridge removed and gone
hollowed out ground at the banks
by the secret creek

by the secret creek
solace found, as the seasons
leaves are shedding there

leaves are shedding there
by hollowed out chestnut shells –
migration begins

Retrieve, Reprieve, Review

Sometimes the garden of our lives gets overgrown
And we can’t keep up with the weeds –
So we end up letting other things slide because
Certain things come first, like making sure
We can get to every game our children play at

Sometimes the garden looks so pretty overgrown
From the distance of whatever porch you look from
Even the stuff that may not belong there –
Or the stuff from the compost pile of memories
Of things that once were important but just, they are just…

Sometimes the garden takes up all of our time
To set it right – to make it productive that we let
The process be all consuming as we wait for the fruits
Of our labors…so we don’t write…or draw…or answer
Those back burner things because they are so far back…

~~~
seasons
continue to
pass as we
look them straight on –
life
