Maintaining Stability

In the still moist mist of a late
Spring afternoon – being in the right
Place at the picture window…

A shadow at the tops of
The trees caught my eye;
Was it the Redtail Hawk?
It was the graceful flight
Of the Great Blue Heron.

Instilled in the memories of
Previous springs, I see the once
Pair strutting across the creek…

One of them had was taken
To a sanctuary after being
Caught in some kind of trap;
To live in comforted care,
Though without a mate.

The heron is a – sign of liminality –
Of crossing into the a space that is neither
here, nor there. Is that where I am?

rescued

spider builds webs –
belongs not behind the door;
no flies there

tissue swept into
a small container and transported
out of doors

little web slinger
hangs by their thread swung
into the ivy

still warm enough
at eight in the evening
to be saved…

hardly time to
blink all those little eyes
at the surprise!

Karma is cause and effect. Dharma means cosmic law.
Yoga is enlightenment through movement and Tao is the
practice of acting in harmony with the fundamental essence
of everything you encounter.

into practice, for me. Also, I am going in my own order.

A Month of Goodbyes 3

renga sandwich an Elfje

to too many quests
not enough knights in armor
for amore – she sighs

too many pairs – unopened
eyes – wake princess, spell; goodbye

to too many – tales
fantasy immortalized
between the pages…

Hello?
Mouse squeak
Cheese trap set
Yet the bait remains
Uneaten

to too much – static
clinging vine; smothers
kudzu of the south

too much unspoken –
words, not enough goodbyes

to too much, were there,
shadow dances attended
salted tears dry hard
