Just Karma 137
older, wiser?
(a mini haibun)

A few morning errands, pacing ourselves in the heat.
The stock on the shelves, not there…all bought up.
So we head home in a different direction to stop at
the new antique shop that’s been open for a while –
while I oohed and aahed at the displays on two floors
in rooms tucked here and there; I left empty handed.
Well that’s not entirely true, I left holding his…

by pausing for me,
he melted my heart; my love
grows as the years pass

Karma is cause and effect. Dharma means cosmic law.
Yoga is enlightenment through movement and Tao is the
practice of acting in harmony with the fundamental essence
of everything you encounter.

Note: My haiku (or other forms) are my interpretations
or of how I might put the inspirational sentence
into practice, for me. Also, I am going in my own order.

Just Us

Just Us

Nice to have a slow start Sunday
After an unexpected early return
Last evening of a loved one…

We are not getting any younger –
Nor are we getting any older in our
Eyes adorned with laugh lines
Enjoying ordinary making it ours…

Last evening a loved one returned
Earlier than expected – though late,
So we had a nice slow start Sunday

Pillow Talk?

Pillow Talk?

They arrived and they sapped and conquered –
Two little bodies needing watchful care
Moments filled with action, moody emotions,
Lessons forgotten, and reminded notions…

Been there done that, doing ‘it’ again – enjoying
Teaching, playing and sharing…but
I’m a tad older now and energy drawn
Must be renewed between dusk and dawn

When was the last time I stayed up late?
It seems now though there are more times
When my day includes little ones on ‘my plate’
That my eyelids are not up much past eight!
