(g) down time… (7.12)

down time…

some nine miles even
trod before and after plans;
soon to find relief

in perhaps an easier
night of actual sleeping

too much tossing and
turning caused an early rise;
looking for ends day

Warmed Weather

Already
In the
Nineties by nine
Summer has arrived – too
Early

I
Would like
Just a bit
More of spring for
Stepping…

In
Stages, yesterday
Slow and steady
The jungle was cut
Back

Now
With leaves
Upon the trees
There is a sanctuary
There

In
The shaded
Areas as the
Sun crosses the blue
Sky

Spring onto the greens
Get the dimpled ball into
A hole in the ground

Adventure

early to Fort Hill;
serpentine trail going up
a doe waited to greet me
at the loop top there –
that alone was worth the climb;
five mile round trip, before nine

Elfje and haiku :
Walk Tall

walk
straight, true
head held high
melting the miles of
day
*
nine small miles addressed
may seem like a scant distance
when happily done

when successfully achieved
where all the goals that were set
*
Inspired by: Walk tall
from: Instant Karma by Barbara Ann Kipfer
8,879 ways to give yourself and others
good fortune right now.
*
Karma is cause and effect. Dharma means cosmic law.
Yoga is enlightenment through movement and Tao is the
practice of acting in harmony with the fundamental essence
of everything you encounter.

Note: my haiku (or other forms) are my interpretations
or of how I might put the inspirational sentence
into practice, for me. Also, I am going in my own order.

Additional note: yard work, spring cleaning, garage sale
surfing (and finding), and an enjoyable evening walk with family.

June Lune Pairs #20

ninety-eight at eight

one hundred degrees

– ducks seek shade

We didn’t get all that much rain yesterday so I figured I’d better water my veggies and check my berries. It was hot even at eight. I started a mother duck and six or seven of her ducklings cooling off in the shade of the gully. Our thermometer for outside temps registered 104 at 9:30am. I’ve got a few chores out of the house this morning on this official first day of summer!
