Migration or Hibernation?
(an OctaTimbre/ new form)

Looking out the picture window
Yellows and reds brush amid greens
First day of October: crip air
Has summer finally let go?
Still plenty of time for playing
Out of doors and catching sun rays,
Though plenty of garden work waits.
Adjusted clothing layers and
Time to ready the winter wear –
Maybe think of hibernation?

one can strip layers
of defensive protection
by washing too much

(as in not playing in good dirt)

one can strip layers
of defensive protection
by wishing too much

(as in not facing reality)

one can strip layers
of defensive protection
by ‘dishing’ too much

(today maybe that is dissing?…’dishing the dirt’ – gossip)

Karma is cause and effect. Dharma means cosmic law.
Yoga is enlightenment through movement and Tao is the
practice of acting in harmony with the fundamental essence
of everything you encounter.

Note: my haiku (or other forms) are my interpretations
or of how I might put the inspirational sentence
into practice, for me. Also, I am going in my own order.

’round to it…

‘round to it…

the layers of paper…
on my desk –
I have to remember…
that they are not frozen.

Though perhaps
some of the words are…
receipts with time stamps
old newspaper clippings
symbols of thoughts

stalling for time…
I have to remember – on
my desk – the piles of
paper – can they melt?

maybe… there is
hidden treasure – like
a friend’s chapbook
trying to surface –
I plan a dive…eventually

wondering the symbolism
of a messy desk –
and really not worrying
because I’m not frozen…
