Clean Up Crew Miss…

Debris
On the
Highway snags a
Rental – thankfully the driver’s
OK

Part
Of a
Grill from a
Truck from who knows
When

Returning
The rental
More paper work –
At least the company’s
Insured

Just
Makes for
A nerve wracking
Return trip for heading
Home

‘Inn’ tertwined ‘Inn’ terpretations

Yesterday – several fender benders
And ‘alligators’ – parts of tires left from other
Accidents line the sides of the roads

Some ‘roadkill’ being devoured
By the highway buzzards
Who evidently know where to look.

Yesterday a pizza delivered was dinner
Close to the tenth hour of the eve –
To the Inn of choice when traveling…

As a member of the ‘club’
We sometimes get to choose the ‘gift bag’
Or garner more ‘points’

Yesterday not much time for play –
Though I finished another murder –
A book that is – one of four in the series.

To look at another positive:
In the end there was ‘overtime pay’ –
And at least we were together

Notes:
…road alligators are often in the middle of the roadway and on the side of the highway. So, what are we talking about? A rubber on the road is known as a “road alligator” because of its appearance. Tire chunks are frequently found on the shoulder or in the middle of the street after
a tire blows out, shreds, or sustains tread separation.”

Roadkill: Not a pretty site – look it up on Wiki.

New York State of mind

Note:
I had always seen the Milky Way
in books, in planetariums or TV.
But for a September wedding in
New York’s upstate, about 20 years
ago I saw that wondrous highway.
The breadth and width is amazing
without light pollution.

Big Rigs

I suppose two tractor trailer trucks in a line
Does not a convoy make –
But that’s what was on the highway overpass
Just before I went under
At four-thirty before dawn…
