Swimming Upstream
(OctaTimbre)

Technology flails like a fish
Out of water, air does not help
I flounder with my attempts to
Connect to those distant yet close –
The autumn atmosphere darkens
Earlier and earlier… I
Am standing in humid shadows
Expectant of predicted rain
After the weather passes; there
Is the hope to sight a rainbow

ik 178 for August 2015 wp

ik 178
(American haiku)
love grows

be apart rather
than a part from your partner;
even when distant

*

Inspired by: Never speak loudly to each other,
unless the house is on fire.
from: Instant Karma by Barbara Ann Kipfer
8,879 ways to give yourself and others
good fortune right now.
*
Karma is cause and effect. Dharma means cosmic law.
Yoga is enlightenment through movement and Tao is the
practice of acting in harmony with the fundamental essence
of everything you encounter.

Note: my haiku (or other forms) are my interpretations
or of how I might put the inspirational sentence
into practice, for me. Also, I am going in my own order.

The wishes and kind words – beautiful; – Photos
Point of view as far still the same

I tried to take this Elfje, a five line poem and translate it.
For ease, I put it into two sentences (1).
Then I put it through a translator program and came up with (2)
and also posted the caricatures (3) and then ran (3) back
through the translator (4).

We may live in different parts of the world, but we are all human.
We share many similar attributes. May we find blessings and peace.

looking through three yards distant to the bend of the creek – a surprise; the
heron I had not seen since spring, even three hundred feet away – still majestic

bag flapping?
no –
resting heron

Note: the heron must have been a tad curious too, because later in the day
he came into my yard (I saw through my window) – maybe looking for me?

Afloat

(Jan 29, 2012)

A day in motion attempting to reach the distant shore
Of organizational calm – The moon tugs at the tides
Stuff gets shifted, trashed and gifted
A night to gain access to the lifesaver I have thrown myself…

West Side Window View

While true spring is still distant and harvest still far
The halo of the dawn, the sun slow in its’ winter rising
Is alighting the tops of the leafless yet budding trees
And reminds me of the warm color of fresh fruit –
Specifically the glowing fuzz yellow-oranges of peaches
