a grand performance
by three year olds’, turning four;
their last day of school

then onto ‘Grama’s’ house for
some one on one time for play

afternoon saw the
six year old joining the fun
almost to the eve

then ‘Grama’ slipped off to the
neighbors for some adult time

traveling spouse then
joined the group sharing some beer

Inspired by: Compose a haiku in a restful place,
Preferably outside.
Karma is cause and effect. Dharma means cosmic law.
Yoga is enlightenment through movement and Tao is the
practice of acting in harmony with the fundamental essence
of everything you encounter.

Note: My haiku (or other forms) are my interpretations
or of how I might put the inspirational sentence
into practice, for me. Also, I am going in my own order.

American renga; two haiku 3,5,3 syllables
Above and below two lines of 7,7 syllables

10.5…crickets cry…

cold stone moon at four
in the afternoon, crickets
cry to far to hear

Please to see the post for information about Shiba Sonome,
other masters, our host and other contributors inspired pieces.

Note: After leaving the grocery store I looked up into the blue sky,
(We had rain and cloud filled skies for the good part of two days)
At around four thirty, the moon was as white as the surrounding clouds.
Just a little shaven off the left ‘chin’. A really lovely sight.

planning

planning…

the half moon hangs this afternoon in the south
aligned with the peak of the roof of the house
in a blue cotton like, cloudless, crisp blanket of sky

walking from the creek to the back porch door
not much stirs in the later part of the day
except for a stray V of geese flying north

we have been forewarned that autumn will side step
and allow an early winter – at least for the next few days
so tomorrow our family will gather for lunch instead of dinner…
