Joyful Celebrating

When the champagne and wine flows
and food an abundant festival feast –
enjoy the companionship of family and friends,
on the dance floor – even when the
music is too loud to hear yourself think!

Mirrored Joy

through the looking glass…
are we ever in a ‘jam’
…how fast the ‘nunc’ unfolds
each breath a mere reflection –
however enjoyed the present gift.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jam_tomorrow
‘…a pun on Latin grammar,…:”iam” means “now” in Latin, but only when speaking in the past or future. In the present the word for now is “nunc.” So, “jam [iam] tomorrow, jam yesterday, but never jam today,” is actually a good mnemonic for the rule. (Note that in Latin, “i” and “j” were not distinct characters; “iam” and “jam” are the same).

Joy in Opportunity to Serve

Jonas the blizzard
has shut down most of the city
and schools for a second day –
While it might be impossible to know
every neighbor…it was nice to see how ours
helped and continue to help
each other during this trying time.
*
Even in the drizzle, fighting night crusted snow –
the neighbor chiseled more waist high snow from the sidewalk
that by law must be clear…

Joy Sans Morning Alarm

Face life, maybe a little later
on those days when you get to sleep in…
because the blizzard named Jonas created
a second day of snow emergency –
though not all get the day off.

Joy in Helping Hands

When helping neighbors
dig out from the blizzard –
(known as Jonas ‘16)
take all the time needed
to work together to clear
the path

(Over twenty four inches in twenty four hours
this will be a slow melt…
Possibility for more on Thursday.)
