(g) Weaver (6.13)

Weaver

Chickadee
Needs some
Strands of string
For her little nest…
Cotton?

Picking
At the
Supports to my
Container garden…I cut
Extra…

Chickadee
Took them
Every strand on
The tall metal flower –
Stand

So
I cut
Some string that
Came from bird seed
Bags

Chickadee
Took them –
While I wasn’t
Looking – out of string?
Thread…

Blue
Dark cornflower
Blue – what little
Was left on the
Spool

Chickadee
Will you
Take them too?
I wonder where’s the
Nest?

  1. oh how wonderful 🙂

it’s always cool when you get to see them grabbing at bits and pieces, sometimes even wrestling pieces, like twigs off branches, amazing how much strength they have! – so even more delightful when you notice, and offer them some gifts, and get to see it, and then not –

always cool in my opinion, and makes me wonder, if it’s a fledging now nesting and building, because ’tis the season for the new life to begin to fly and make their way out in the world – anyhow …. how exciting 😀
