Ik 379
The heron
( haibun)

Just a short journey; to the edge of the yard.
Folding chair, binoculars and camera too.
Angle the chair just so to see the north/south
flow of about two hundred paces of the creek.
To listen to the bird chatter and bug wing hum
In the protective shadow of old Mother willow.

silently gliding
in gracefully; the heron
settles on a rock

Inspired by: Give yourself up to whatever the moment brings.
Karma is cause and effect. Dharma means cosmic law.
Yoga is enlightenment through movement and Tao is the
practice of acting in harmony with the fundamental essence
of everything you encounter.

Note: My haiku (or other forms) are my interpretations
or of how I might put the inspirational sentence
into practice, for me. Also, I am going in my own order.

haibun; prose and haiku

  1. 🙂

Lovely moments that can offer such peace and pleasure, and in some ways, comfort and solace. Mother Willow bestows the best blessings, and the grace of the gift of interesting visitors.
