ik 118 for May 2015

ik 118
for May 2015

haiku and Septolet:
Put People First

they are what make up
the worlds that swirl around us
familiar and strange
*
stay close
to those
who are far

stay closer
to those
who are near
*
we can agree to
disagree; amiable
ways expand thinking
*

Inspired by: Put people first.
from: Instant Karma by Barbara Ann Kipfer
8,879 ways to give yourself and others
good fortune right now.
*
Karma is cause and effect. Dharma means cosmic law.
Yoga is enlightenment through movement and Tao is the
practice of acting in harmony with the fundamental essence
of everything you encounter.

Note: my haiku (or other forms) are my interpretations
or of how I might put the inspirational sentence
into practice, for me. Also, I am going in my own order.

Septolet: fourteen words in two verses which
do not have to be evenly split.

  1. Hi Jules…Thank you for introducing me to a septolet. Love finding new forms of poetry to write in and read. Barbara Ann Kipfer’s “14,000 things to be happy about” is a treasure too.

    • I’ll have to see if I can find her other book when I get home.
I’m not sure if I’ll end up doing all of Instant Karma. But so far it is a nice theme to stick with.
I hope do have more time to do return visits a) when I get home, and b) during the summer. 🙂

    • I have some family, distant and (in) distance; I am trying very hard in my communications with them to ‘stay in the present’ and accept what is. However, it would also be nice if they did the same…
