ik 59 for March 2015 wp

ik 59
for 3.24 March 2015

there on the corner
the old farm house still stands strong –
found on an old map

though never inside, I found
and gave the owners, that map

kept a copy of it
for myself too – to see how
our neighborhood grew

Karma is cause and effect. Dharma means cosmic law.
Yoga is enlightenment through movement and Tao is the
practice of acting in harmony with the fundamental essence
of everything you encounter.

Note: my haiku (or other forms) are my interpretations
or of how I might put the inspirational sentence
into practice, for me. Also, I am going in my own order.

Additional Note: the house is over two hundred years old.
Fairly young by European standards, but old for the
United States.

    • We have a friend who has a similar home – not in our neighborhood. He’s got the remains of a meat cellar with hooks on the walls. The two basements didn’t connect until he dug a tunnel. Not really a good place to store anything now. Since in his neighborhood they changed the water table and it is too dank down there now. But it is a large space with extra supports to hold up the place.
