…obligated… CD 618 (12.6.14)

…obligated…                       CD 618 (12.6.14)
two American sentences sandwich a haiku

who will find peace when the jury sits; deliberating

my privilege to serve?
third time; charged, obligated
facts are disruptive

peace will come when I am no longer sought out

©JP/dh

Note: I just got the notice that for the third time
in about a year I am again filling this ‘privileged’
yet life disrupting role of prospective federal juror.

    • I wasn’t needed the first two times…
I can’t even fathom how they keep track.
Used to be you were asked once and even if you didn’t serve, you weren’t asked again – at least for a very long time.
