‘Anticipation…is keeping me waiting…’

‘*Anticipation… is keeping me waiting…’

Some new shelf product lines some of the cabinetry…
I may return unused rolls…

I’ve been able to empty four packed boxes; rearranged
the location of some foodstuffs…

I’ll have to wait for the counter installation before I can
restock four cupboards…

Today the handles will be properly hung…getting a grip
on this facelift…

High Strung?

High Strung?

Measure twice cut once; so glad I had the cabinet gents
hold off on making the handle holes since the handles arrived
after they left for the day…as someone measured wrong
and the marks on the doors don’t line up…
they’ll be back tomorrow to install that minor bling…

Not so much the case for the electricians who put the wires
on the wrong side of the vent – hubby called that company
as soon as he got home – there was as he says ‘a disconnect’
concerning where he wanted some of the wires and new outlets
placed so when they return later on in the week they may be
crawling up in the attic again…

Oh, did I mention, since there was no ‘retro-fit’ packages
for the new dishwasher and stove/range that the whole
house needs a new panel box, the circuit just for the stove
which requires more voltage than the old one won’t fit in the
old box…Then there will be a lull…until the counter is ready.

the juveniles junkos
now too big for the porch nests
have migrated to the south pines

safely in the height of the evergreen,
perhaps the brothers and sisters
will add new nests next spring

I watch them, thinking that just maybe
they too are looking at me through the picture
window, bobbing their heads in thanksgiving

Note: I can see them from the kitchen window too.

modern appliances are made for new homes…
I think they forgot about all the homes that were
built that are over twenty or thirty years old

we’ll need to make some adjustments to accept
the new newer equipment – by hiring an electrician
to update the fuse box and some wiring – while there
are things we can do, sometimes it is worth the expense
and time saved to have the professional do the right thing.
they used to directly hardwire things like stoves and
dishwashers when building – instead of putting outlets
behind them…these things you only find out once
you’ve ripped the old ones out.

apparently smooth sailing is truly for nautical things –
while not entirely unexpected to have challenges,
handling them with grace makes the process easier

getting measured
the tailor of sorts
uses high end laser
equipment to get exacting
levels for the quartz
composite counter-top…
a man made product
ninety-five percent natural
stone and the rest
a polymer resins –
we are paying extra
for no to low maintenance.
did you know that even
the much sought granite
has to be sealed every year?

response and Nip and Tuck (a two-for-one)

The clarity is lost only by mortal memory.”

Note: Sometimes when we are inspired to reply to a post;
a ‘simple’ reply takes on a life of its’ own.

For those looking for a Kitchen face lift update:

Nip and Tuck?

there is a binding glue
that is rather pungent
perhaps very much like
expensive face lift creams

we anxiously await
the transformation
yet we are only teased
with the artists progress

for the tradesmen are
indeed artists sculpting
and putting in place
the choices we made

at livery?

at livery?

and it has come to pass
that the work has begun

the cupboard doors removed
old appliances roost in the garage

back tomorrow at eight-thirty
and the next day, a trade of tradesmen

and it has come to pass
that my chariot must sleep among the stars

because the garage now stables
tamed saw horses at the ready; willing and able

to measure twice and cut once
some of the supplies now staged and waiting…
