June Lune Pairs #30

one last sky rumble?
more rain falls
in the blessed night…

scorched and melting
people, plants look for relief
darkness brings precipitation

.

With this last day of June…the last pair of lunes?…unlikely.
I have enjoyed working with this theme I hope you have enjoyed reading them – Peace.

June Lune Pairs #28

grey catbird screeches
protecting
chicks or bright blue eggs

learning about nature
together, mother and son share
his gal’s knowledge

Just a few moments together – when he stops by his ‘old home’,
we are more aware of the birds and who they are
because ‘his gal’ also enjoys ‘birding’.
‘They’ may leave the nest our young ones…
but we still enjoy when they visit.

June Lune Pairs #26

first bloomings
delicate white fronds
windswept, sway

white butterfly bush
has begun to bloom, purple
cousin, still shy

My yard has a tad more shade than my neighbor, whose purple butterfly bush has been in full bloom for most of this month. My white one is just starting to open and a purple one – a cutting from the neighbors bush is just showing green buds. Could be that I trimmed them both back in the spring. That and all my shade trees limits the light. But I am hoping to attract more butterflies soon.

summers’ first Monarch
flutters by
graceful milkweed bows

morning refrain repeats
what bird sings; ‘tit willow’
this fine Sunday?
