Waves…Hi!

The white wavy line upside the can
Reminds me of a few things…
I’m out of my brand of soda
Of which I should drink less
And I love wading, floating, swimming, being in the river…

Stage Fright?

Should I rehearse my lines, will there be final closure?
I have to visit, one last time…at least
They have managed without me, of course they would
Probably using different steps to the dance…
But then I am on a different stage now doing a happy jig

Backsplash?

They floated quietly in the water
Linear ducks near the drainage pipe
That had pooled barely two feet deep
I could not see their faces, dunked under as they were
Perhaps their faces were warmer there, looking for lunch…

Bright Winter

Through one window the leaded lines
Hold the colored glass aglow with the morning sun
Through the other I watch as the wind
Seems to slowly shift the house shadow lines
Across the winter green yard…

Almost a Frozen Moment

Cold lines fall from the sky, was there a sunrise…
I did notice the geese still resting in the preserved swamp
Not wanting to start their day, as I was beginning mine
But now my work day is done and the grey sky looms
And the window screens are full of captured rain drops

The Road Less Traveled

I feel like my New Year has started a week early
Having a later shift at ‘the new job’ meant no alarm needed to wake
I only had one brief and fleeting thought about the job I left
And those who had to rise to meet the truck before dawn today
My life line now travels on a different road…

Life Lines…

Pale pink sky greets me at seven
Silent morning on the streets lined with colorful lights
Decorated yards, windows a glow, traditions transforming
A challenging day full of choices of what to do
Where to go, who to see, children’s voices
