A Poem and an Elfje, for Satyavani

An Apple and a Stone for the Teacher

The concept started small
but like the layers of a pearl in spring
the sun kissed flowers of summer
the abundance of autumns harvested fruist
and the rolling snowball of winter…
with nurturing, and creativity
human elements; tears of frustration and joy
with patience and practice, practice, practice
and the rolling of ink from a thousand pens…
each and every small stone gathered
wet from salt sea, brittle and dry from deserts
and those too dressed in hues of green moss
they gathered to build a supportive mountain
painted by sunrises and sunsets
brushed by clouds shadows and weathered emotions
to unite, untangle and find in one moment of peace
all that could be and is holy…

~~~
names
whispered softly
chanted, enchanting, enlightening
give life to small
stones
  1. the build up of this, and the roundness of each image, transforming in the mind to a small stone of experience and perfection…both make for such a beautiful poem!
