the blue jay and a crow
had a brief argument
about territory -
neither read the map
to know it was my yard…
catching my eye with a
flash of color and my ear
with squawking dismay.
the crow flew off and
and the jay’s blue feathers
disappeared triumphantly
into the green border pine

I have no idea why- but this one really hit the spot for me. And of all the birds in out in the field these it is funny that these two were arguing. They both are rather outspoken aren’t they?
I agree with Libby,,it’s fun to watch their battles though. I had the little chickadees arguing over the feeder the other morning. A nice write, I enjoyed it. Glad I found this page of yours – I’ve been looking
